Children working in brick factories
This is the main project that S&S is currently supporting. Since 2009, S&S has been funding an educational project for young children working in brick factories in Helwan (as young as 5 years old!). The project is implemented by Masr Bokra organisation, an organisation catering for working children in El Saf. Through Montessori-style literacy and numeracy teaching, the program aims at providing basic education, computer literacy, and allowing the boys to gain their primary school certificates and literacy certificates.
Through trips, sports days and camps held by the organisation, the program also provides an opportunity for the children to play and do some sports and activities.
