Sharkawy & Sarhan is acted as Egyptian legal counsel to EBRD, JICA and Proparco on the landmark US$300 million financing of a 200 MW onshore wind farm in Ras Ghareb, Egypt

Sharkawy & Sarhan is proud to have acted as Egyptian legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Proparco on the landmark US$300 million financing of a 200 MW onshore wind farm in Ras Ghareb, Egypt.

This transaction marks a major milestone in Egypt’s energy transition, directly supporting the country’s ambitious goal of generating 42% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2035. It is a powerful step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.

The transaction was led by the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Partner Mohamed Nabil Hazzaa and supported by Associate Nadine Ghaleb and Attorney at Law Nour ElSisi.
