Essam is passionate about the relationship and overlap between technology and the law and enjoys the diverse practice areas at Sharkawy & Sarhan as he demonstrates keenness to rotate across different practice areas. He started at Sharkawy & Sarhan Law Firm in June 2021 in the Employment team. He was quickly   seconded for 25 months full-time to a tech giant where his role was that of an in-house counsel advising on all matters of Egyptian law with a nexus to the company’s operations.
Since his return to S&S in April 2024, Essam worked with different partners of the firm across multiple sectors, advising on complex matters in areas pertaining to general Corporate and Commercial, Data Privacy, Telecommunication, Media and Technology, FinTech, Antitrust, Oil & Gas, operations, Consumer Protection and Employment. Essam enjoys the dynamics of inhouse legal environments in addition to private practice and is leveraging this interest by providing part-time legal support to Nestle Egypt’s operations as in-house support.
Essam’s profile allows him to navigate the different complexities of both in-house and private practice environments. He is able to undertake in-depth analysis of legal concepts whilst skillfully delivering commercial and practical advice to clients.
Prior to joining Sharkawy and Sarhan, Essam worked in civil, commercial, labor, and criminal litigation. He is also involved in several areas of incorporation services.
