Farahnaz has been a member of the Oil & Gas, Mineral Resources team at Sharkawy & Sarhan Law Firm since 2021, following her graduation from Edinburgh and BPP University’s Law School.
She worked with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP as a shadowing volunteer and offered advice with trainee solicitors on employment and consumer law related issues.
She also served at the law school’s legal advice clinic where she provided legal advice on the same areas of law. Farahnaz spent a year and a half as a legal researcher in the case handling department at the Egyptian Competition Authority and worked on a plethora of high-profile antitrust cases and legal reform efforts.
Her work at the ECA spanned several sectors including Food and Beverage, Telecommunications, Media and Advertising and Sports. She was also part of the drafting team for the law amendments introducing Egypt’s ex-ante merger control regime as well as the drafting team for the ECA’s Vertical Restraints Guidelines.
Farahnaz is currently a member of JUSTICE- the British section of the International Commission of Jurists and the Media Licensing Committee at the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt. She is fluent in both English and Arabic and has good working knowledge of French.
