Saif joined Sharkawy and Sarhan in March 2021. Saif ‘s practice focuses on corporate, commercial and M&A. Saif was a senior associate at Baker McKenzie (Cairo office) from January 2018 to March 2021.
He handled corporate matters and provided commercial advisory for a number of multinational companies including leading electronics production and technology companies.
In addition, he advised multinational clients on M&A transactions in Egypt in various sectors including pharmaceuticals, real estate development, education, and food industries. Saif was seconded for 6 months to GlaxoSmithKline.
Prior to joining Baker Mackenzie, Saif served as a counsel at the Egyptian State Council (Administrative Courts) where he worked in the “Department of Legislation” then the Higher Administrative Court (State Contracts Circuit).
Through his service in the State Council, he reported on disputes in connection with licenses and state contracts and participated in reviewing law bills, the exposure which built a wide experience in Egyptian public laws and regulations in relation to public tenders, state contracts, state lands and various administrative licenses and regulatory bodies. Saif started his career with a 2-years’ experience in arbitration disputes on state contracts, construction as well as telecommunication related disputes.
