Mohamed leads the firm’s Infrastructure & Power sector. He has an in-depth focus on power & renewables and utilities advising clients on all regulatory aspects relating to power and utilities projects with an outstanding footprint in the Egyptian Renewable Energy sector. Having advised all financial institutions involved in the second round of the feed-in tariff program as well as advising on all utility-scale solar BOO projects and the first ever and only distributed generation projects to be financed by DFIs in Egypt.

Mohamed has recently been involved in several landmark deals in the Egyptian market, such as the development of the largest solar power plant in Africa, and the expansion of the Suez Canal Container Terminal which has been featured as a real highlight deal by IFLR.

Mohamed has recently advised on several port terminal projects including advising the EBRD on the financing of the first dry port project in Egypt (the 6th of October dry port project) that won the IJ Global award for transportation infrastructure deal for 2022. Mohamed was leading the team advising in relation to the financing of the largest single solar power BOO project in Egypt (Abydos Solar Project). This groundbreaking project was awarded the ECA, DFI, IFI Deal of the Year 2023 was awarded to AMEA Power’s 1GW Abydos Solar and Amunet Wind (the A&A Twins) at the Bonds, Loans and Sukuk Awards by GFC Media Group presents Bonds & Loans as this is the third prestigious award in a streak for those landmark projects as it comes after the IJGlobal Renewables – Solar Deal of the Year Award for the MENA Region on April 26 and the PFI Global ESG Deal of the Year 2022 awarded earlier on February 22.
