Sharkawy & Sarhan acted as the Egyptian legal adviser to The International Finance Corporation (IFC) on securing $250 million long-term loans to Commercial Bank International (CIB) to support its capital and fund green projects

We are delighted to announce that we acted as the Egyptian legal adviser to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on securing $250 million long term loans to Commercial International Bank (CIB) to support its capital and fund green projects.
The first loan is a ten-year term $150 million Tier II loan, out of which $90 million will be used for the refinancing of outstanding subordinated debt owed by CIB to IFC, the remaining $60 million will be used to support the bank’s sustainable growth plans.
The second loan is a seven-year term $100 million senior loan to fund a group of green projects, including water treatment and efficiency, green buildings, and renewable and sustainable agriculture projects.
