Sharkawy & Sarhan Advises IFC, EBRD & Proparco on Financing 30 Solar Power Projects

In a significant mandate in its scope, and its economic and social impact, Sharkawy & Sarhan advised IFC, EBRD, Proparco and a number of other development financial institutions on financing 30 Solar Power Projects under phase two of the feed-in tariff (FiT) program. Collectively, these projects form a massive solar energy complex in Benban, Aswan, which is expected to be the world’s biggest grid-connected solar power park upon its completion, generating up to 1.8GW of clean energy. Sharkawy & Sarhan power team led by partner Mohamed Nabil Hazzaa was heavily involved in the drafting and negotiations of the project agreements of the feed-in tariff program since the inception of the program by the Egyptian government in 2014. Sharkawy & Sarhan team that led the projects included partners Mohamed Nabil Hazzaa, Ahmed Haggag, Ahmed El Sharkawy, and Karim Sarhan, in addition to many senior associates and associates of the firm, including Ahmad Farghal, Basma Seif, Reham Eissa, Esraa Abdel Moneim, Marwa El Shaarawy, Nesma Abdelbary, Mohamed Rasekh, Darah Zakaria, Noha Eissa, Amira Boshra, Youmna Elewa, Bassel Khalil, and Hassan El Rashidy.
