Sharkawy & Sarhan is delighted to have acted as Egyptian Local Counsel for DeFacto in a cybercrime matter involving the manipulation of e-commerce matters and loyalty rewards.
Working closely with Defacto, we prepared a detailed technical and legal report linking the digital evidence to the conduct in question and the resulting losses, then pursued the matter through criminal proceedings and settlement negotiations to securing full recovery of DeFacto’s losses.
The engagement sits at the intersection of technology, investigations and litigation, where the quality of the evidence usually decides the case.
The matter was led by Partner Ahmed Haggag and Counsel Mohamed Farid Nasr, with Senior Associate Abdellatif Eissa, Associate Mohamed Moataz and Attorney at Law Raheem Emam. Thanks to DeFacto for their trust and close collaboration.
